What to do if the kid is acting up

It often happens that the child acts irresistible, freaks out with no particular reason and tries to show his stubborn ego. And when trying to stop this, parents receive only more tears as a result. The thing is, at such moments there is a large amount of adrenaline that is boiling inside a small growing human being, emotions overcome the baby and she/he can not cope with them without the help of parents.

Why doesn’t my child behave himself?

It is important to understand that when children are crying, screaming loudly, or stumbling legs, it is impossible for them to calm down, they simply can not stop. At an early age, such strong emotions are more powerful than the baby's ability to stop them. In addition, there are a couple of crisis periods in the child's life, the first of them is during the 3rd year of life. It somehow resembles the middle age crisis of the older people, when a child acts up, tries to show his worst features of character and is in kind of depression not being able to control himself.

How to cope with it?

In no case should you scream, raise your voice, or try to explain something to a child. She just does not hear you! You will only further frustrate your child, or cause psychological trauma. If you do not understand your kids and try to make them shut up as soon as they cry, you will hurt their psychic and, in the future, they can be afraid of showing emotions.

If the kid acts up in a crowded public place, the best way is to just take him away from there and talk calmly on the side.

Try to unobtrusively distract a child with an object or action that will definitely be of his interest, it can be a favorite toy or a happy song. In no way, you should touch the baby with your hands until he calms down at least a little. The maximum of physical freedom and mental activity will help your children not only to calm down but also to prevent such attacks in the future. Giving them a chance to let their emotions free, you show your children that you appreciate them and there is no use in screaming. Subconsciously they will take this into consideration. Let the baby move more and explore the world, it is not necessary to distract him from the game, as soon as he gets hurt or injured a little bit.

After the child calms down, be sure show the maximum care and love. Such attacks are very exhausting for babies, they feel devastated and powerless. Let the kid rest. And in no case scream at him/her, remember, they can not control this and it is as much stressful for them as it is for you!

The reasons for such behavior

Remember one very important thing, children who are acting up and shows loud negative emotions, do it, not because they want to achieve something from you or to manipulate the adults, they are just upset, and these emotions are not in their power. They just can not handle this, so you need to help them, not to scream and get angry, you will only scare them.

And at the same time, be persistent and do not let your child use acting up as a way to get what he wants. Show him. That it doesn’t work on you. Children can manipulate the behavior of their parents, feeling their mood. You should not allow this. Do not show that you are annoyed or that regret it. Stay calm if you truly think that your kid was not behaving well without a reason and you taught him the right lesson.
