Non-WW Weigh-In #2

Life is hard these days……in so many ways.  And I’m a stress eater.  As you can imagine, I want to eat everything in sight.  I have been trying to be good, but it still looks like I put on about 2 pounds……you know my friends Evil Pound #1 and Evil Pound #2 that I haven’t been able to shake since Christmas?!  Not a shocker, but so not a motivator, either.  Yesterday, I did walk from work to the bus station, which is about a mile.  I haven’t done it in a while due to the heat and rain, but yesterday it was so beautiful outside.  I really enjoyed the walk and am looking forward to fall when I’ll be able to walk outside more.  Until then, I will just keep telling myself “You are not hungry, find something else to do”.

Non-WW Weigh-in #1

This is my first week of not going to WW anymore due to my husband’s unemployment.   I’ve made a pact with myself that I’m not going to gain any weight.  I can’t.  Really!  I gave my mom all of my “fat” clothes (since she loaned me most of my wardrobe after I gained so much weight in my first pregnancy anyway).  And I’m not asking for them back.  Really in the grand scheme of things, I would be happy to just maintain.  I honestly haven’t lost any weight since Christmas anyway.  I’ve just been gaining and losing the same 2 pounds over and over, so essentially I’ve been maintaining since then.  So, my new plan is to give you the PASS/FAIL treatment.  This week, I PASSED.  I’m still maintaining.  And I’m even close to that 30 pound goal I had.  About 1 pound close.  I’m going to try my best to keep losing.  I still have another 30 pounds to lose for my ultimate goal of getting back into my pre-kids wardrobe.

Pounds lost in Week 61: -3.4 pounds

Total weight lost so far : 26.4 pounds

I officially hate my “health” problems. Remember me talking about “old me” coming back with a vengeance last week? I was wrong. The vengeance came THIS week. Let’s forget that my face still looks like crap with all of the cysts, on Friday, I woke up and I felt like I was going to die - literally. I felt so sick and so terrible all over and I could hardly even stand up. I spent most of Friday laying on the couch, unable to move. I seem to have picked up whatever illness my kids brought home 2 weeks ago tenfold. I called my doc who was unable to see me, but graciously sent me a z-pack to the pharmacy. Then, I got my period - 2 week early - AGAIN (I thought we were past this crap with the new, ridiculously expensive birth control pills?!) - which explained why my body felt like someone beat it with a baseball bat. Lord only knows what is going on with me again. But, obviously no amount of vomiting or not eating this weekend could have spared me, what was by far, the most disappointing weigh-in ever. It was my last (due to my husband’s job loss) and I was hoping to go out on a high note. My weigh-in person even weighed me twice because she couldn’t believe how high/negative it was. Then, she asked me if it was “that time of the month”. I guess I’m not the only one with extra poundage issues around that time, but clearly my body hates me. Maybe by the time I hit menopause, I won’t have to deal with this crap anymore…..maybe.

Insulin

My dad has diabetes. Type 2. Because he is fat. This week he was told he now needs to take insulin. He doesn’t want to exercise and still thinks he doesn’t eat wrong. He is not eating the wrong things, just too much. The news was enough incentive for me to get up at the ungodly hour of 5:21 am (if you know me then you know about my alarm clock paranoia and are laughing now!) this morning to exercise. I thought I should bust out the exercise set my husband gave me for Christmas 2009 - you know…..before this Christmas arrives.

I really enjoyed this kickboxing video. There are several workouts on this one DVD and each is 10 minutes. They are not difficult, though I did have moments of spasticness (is that a word?!) this morning, but I think that was just because I was still half asleep. I did the first 2 workouts on the video today (yeah-yeah - 20 minutes isn’t that much, but in my shape, you’ve got to start light!). You can also customize your workout on the DVD by selecting which individual 10 minute sessions you want to do and in what order. I also liked the instructor. Unlike every other exercise instructor I’ve ever had, I didn’t want to feed her a donut. Don’t get me wrong, she has a banging body, but not that too skinny, I exercise 5 hours a day look. She was motivating. Not too perky, not too militant and not too snarky like my Wii Fit. I’m going to get up and exercise with this video. I want to show my dad that it can be done and that it doesn’t take much effort. I want him to lose weight with me and I want him to stop needing so many pills and insulin to treat a disease that he doesn’t need to have in the first place.

WW Update - Week 59

Pounds lost in Week 59: .4 of a pound

Total weight lost so far : 29.8 pounds

Can you believe it?  I missed 30 by .2.  UGH - talk about a letdown!  I don’t know what went wrong.  I basically ate the exact same thing as last week.  I sweat my butt off several nights this week peach picking, making jam and going to the fair (where I didn’t eat any of the tasty fair food!).  I thought for sure this was going to be my week.  Hopefully next week, though I guess I shouldn’t complain about a loss.  I’m rounding out my last few weeks at WW, before I attempt to have a go at it without official weigh-in.
