I let my kids watch TV - not an amazing amount since they are 2 1/2 and 9 months, but they like some cartoons in the morning and evening. It always amazes me, though, what the kids choose to pick up - not only from TV, but from our every day conversations. Yesterday, the kids and I got up early to take my husband to the airport and after gymnastics, we were all pooped. CheezWaster asked to watch Ratatouille and that was fine by me. Later that afternoon, we were playing with the velcro ball/paddles and he says to me, “Mama, Let’s do this thing!” - which was blatantly taken from Linguini, one of the lead characters in the Ratatouille movie. I found it hilarious - based purely on his inflection of the sentence. But then stopped for a moment to realize just what sponges our little babies/kids are. You never know what is going on those stimulated, little brains of theirs until it pops out of their mouth.
