WW Update – Week 5

Weight lost in week 5 – 1.6 pounds

Total weight lost so far – 8.8 pounds

So after another holiday weekend, I went into Weight Watchers to be weighed with hesitation and a little anticipation.  I honestly didn’t think I gained weight, but I wasn’t exactly sure that I’d lost any either.  When I left for the meeting, I told my husband that it probably was going to be another .2 week.  To my surprise, I lost another 1.6 pounds.  I even earned a BRAVO sticker today for making good suggestions in the meeting.  GO ME!  Wishing you all continued success on your weight loss plans.  Any loss  is a good loss in my book!

WW Update – Week 4

Week 4 weight loss – .8 pounds

Total weight loss on WW so far – 7.2 pounds

I was a little nervous to stand on the scale this week because Sunday was my brother’s birthday and not only did I eat like a pig, I ate cake.  C-A-K-E – marked 9 points in the little WW bible.  My dad made spaetzle, german homemade noodles, and I ate 1 cup plus a hand-full during quality control, the few more I picked out of the bowl while we were all talking at the table.  I was hoping to lose a little more this week, but I think Sunday did me in because the scale Sunday morning looked a little lower than it did on Monday morning.  Oh well.  Any weight loss is good in my book.

WW Update – Week 3

Well, it was my first disappointing week.  Sadly, I gained .2 pounds.  I know it is trivial, but I’m so bummed.  This was the first week I had to use any of my flex points and it is clear to me that I am unable to do so again anytime soon.  I didn’t even use all of the flex points (though I will admit that what I ate with my flex points was pure crap).  My meeting leader said that she thinks next week I will be pleasantly surprised at my weight loss and that sometimes it is hard going to the Monday meeting after you’ve used flex points on crap over the weekend.  We shall see.  It’s back to lettuce for me this week.

The Break-Up

Oh Henry,

I don’t know how to tell you this.  I just can’t be with you.  My heart just can’t take it.  I won’t be able to meet you at the movies anymore and our mid-afternoon trysts are definitely out.  Please don’t be offended.  It’s not you, it’s me.  Really.  I’ve also had to say goodbye to the Munchkins, the Reese’s twins, the M&M gang and that bitch who always Snickers at me at work.  I can no longer have such unhealthy relationships in my life.  Someday I know we’ll be able to be friends.  I just don’t see you in my immediate future.

Take care and maybe we’ll see each other down the road,

Mamamamahoney

The Last Supper

The Last Supper
The Last Supper

Monday night, I attended my first Weight Watchers meeting, courtesy of the fine folks  over at Does This Blog Make Us Look Fat?  I totally went in there thinking that the Meeting Leader was going to be some skinny bitch, ala my Step Teacher in College (whom I desperately wanted to feed a donut!), but she wasn’t.  She was an average looking woman who repeatedly mentioned her life-long issues with food.  Not only did I feel empowered there, I felt very comfortable.  I wasn’t the fattest one in the room and everyone talked about the same issues with which I’m dealing.  I’m hoping this plan will be a success for me.  I know that portion control, especially at dinner, is a big issue for me.  I went to a 5:30 meeting, expecting to leave there starving.  Maybe it was the idea of being at Weight Watchers, but I wasn’t hungry when I left.  I immediately went to the grocery store afterwards and purchased some healthy foods to embark on my new food journey.  Though, I must admit, all the while I was in the meeting, I really was thinking I should have made something better for dinner as my last meal before the diet.  Above is what I cooked for dinner before I went to the Weight Watchers meeting.  This diet is definitely going to take some planning until I start to know the points of everything, but I’m writing everything in the journal and I’m determined to succeed.  I’m going to have to start moving my ass exercising, too.  I’ve got 60 pounds to lose from CheezWaster’s birth just to get back into my old wardrobe.  If I manage to do that, I’m going for another 20, too.  I mean, really, 60? 80?  What’s the difference at that point!  So, dear friends, wish me luck, cheer me on and hopefully soon, I’ll be able to post some before and after pics!
